bio: Jerry is a 17 year old boy who left school last year and is now part of a apprenticeship to become an electrician. He is extremely hardworking so at weekends he enjoys seeing friends going out and visiting his local cinema.Jerry really enjoys either watching films alone or with a small gathering of friends. His favorite genre of thriller would probably be an action thriller he enjoys the fast pace tension and high paced scenes that come with it and enjoys watching scene of crime and his favourite style thriller would be a gangster/crime genre.He does not however necessarily enjoy films that have long or complicated story lines as he often finds them confusing or hard to follow which can causes him not to enjoy the film.

Bio:Rosie is a 16 year old girl who really enjoys going out especially with large groups of friends.She is currently still studying in full time school education but hopes to leave school after achieving good GCSE results and moving on to study fashion a college.Rosie like watching films by herself and with  friends and would only choose a thriller if she was to watch it will a large friendship group.Rosie's  ideal thriller would be one that is not to gory or graphic, but something that challenges her leaves her asking questions and does not have an obvious or typical thriller storyline.Her favourite genre of thriller would be a psychological thriller as she enjoys something that goes against the typical thriller and challenges her views or perception of something.

Editing

To edit our thriller opening we used editing software 'pinicale'. Because we had to use Katy's camera the format used was incompatible with the schools pinnacle software so we used Bart Lang's laptop.  Once we had opened pinnacle we had to press import footage  chance the format of our video from a .MOV so that it could be watched And edited using the pinnacle software. One we had imported our shots onto the software they were in order an on the timeline now we were able to run all the different shots we had taken and delete the ones that were unsuccessful, We were also able to change the length of time at which each shot would play for and cut down shots if needed this was important as we wanted to create a pace within our thriller so be able to cut down the various shots allowed us to create a sense of pace and urgency.

We were also able to change the speed at which each shot played for which was important in shots such as the establishing shot of the train going past this enabled us to create a faster speed for the train and furthermore create a sense of speed and shock as the train passes at a fast speed.

This was also important where adding the fast and rapid shots if the dream character as changing the speed allowed us to show a quick flash of the figure and elevate the feeling of mystery, creating shot similar to that of our thriller inspiration 'a clock work orange' during which fast clips of the protagonist are used to confuse the audience.


Furthermore it was important that throughout our opening that we established between the characters dream and there real life pinnacle aloud us to change the colour of some shots to black and white so the audience were able to distinguish between real life and the characters dream whilst still leaving a hint of confusion among the  thrillers story line.


Once edited we had to  add in the credits this was easy to do on pinnacle because  there was a range of different fonts to choose from that could be dragged and placed into the film and then edited so the text could be edited to included what we wanted to say. We were then able to use different transitions to make the credits appear and disappear such as fading them in and out which we felt was important to our thriller to create a further sense of mystery and to follow through with the dream theme of our opening.

Once we had done this we were able to add the final element of our thriller the music which we had search for using 'freeplaymusic.com'. We saved an uncopyrighted piece of music which we all agreed suited the theme of our thriller we were then able to save this Mp3 file and upload it in the software and play it along side the opening. Once we had finished the opening we were able to burn the opening to a disk.

BBFC Rating

The group have agreed after watching our finished product that it should be given a rating of a 15. We have decided to give it this rating because although it does not contain scenes of graphic gore or horror. We still think some of the imagery such as the dream character may be distressing for an audience any younger than 15. It also contains a lot of fast takes and flashing images that may distress an audience any younger than this.

Filming Ideas/ Inception App

The Inception App: This app is a dream machine that transforms the world around you into a dreamworld. It uses augmented sound to induce dreams through the headset of your iPhone and iPod Touch. It will change your perception of reality.

Use this app in the same way you use your iPod. Switch it on when you are out and about, at work or going to bed. The difference here is that this app mixes your acoustic reality with the soundtrack of Inception. The result is a realtime soundtrack to your life, or your dreams.

Features of the App:

• The app is based on the Inception movie concept.
• Just like the characters in the movie Inception you can enter a dreamworld by pressing a button.
• The Inception app puts the spirit of Inception the movie right into the real life of every user.
• It is a dream machine that transforms the world around you into a dreamworld using augmented sound.
• It includes pervasive gaming elements. For example new dreams are unlocked by walking, being in a quiet room, traveling faster than 30 mph, when the sun shines or it is full moon.

 Remember that the dream-space is less about the visual, but more about the feeling.

Using the App idea in the opening:

We liked the idea of the app and how the noise from the surrounding areas around the person fit into the dream with the music and the people talking around them.

So we decided to leave some of the backgorund talking in the film because we thought it would add suspence to the opening thriller, because people will be asking what the noise is, what are the noise's saying, and who voices are they?

We did this by speeding up the random talking so it sounded like mumbling, when overlapping this mumbling with the music, it sounded alot like the app does.
